broken things to mendBroken Things to Mend by Karey White Celia is in desperate need of a change--a change of scenery, a change of pace, and a complete redo of all relationships. Not knowing what else to do, she opens a map, closes her eyes, and lets fate decide her future. Then she packs her meager belongings and buys a one-way ticket to a little town on the fringes of Oregon's Deschutes National Forest called Sisters. She's wanted a family for years. Will she find one in Sisters? What Celia doesn't plan to find is a strange Chinese woman whose meddling ways keep throwing her in the path of a handsome, but reserved, forest ranger. But no matter how kind or dependable Silas seems to be, there are some things in Celia's past that neither of them can escape, and this time, the damage might be too much to mend. amazon get it

My review: This was the series that I was most looking forward to for this whole year! I was so excited to get to read the first one written by one of my very favorite authors, Karey White. And it was amazing!

I love Celia. She's had it with her life in Chicago and is ready to move on and have a better life than she's had before. So she finds a map, picks a destination in Oregon and takes the next Greyhound bus without the slightest idea what she was going to find there. What courage!

What does she find there? Pearl the Matchmaker. I love the way that Pearl is able to discern just what and who Celia is going to need in order to make her new life happen. She matches her up with Nancy, a woman to take care of her needs while she gets to trust the more important match of Silas. Silas also needs help of his own from Celia. I love the way that she is able to give him what he needs without really even trying. The only thing he really needs is someone willing to overlook his stuttering problem long enough to get to know the real him.

This is a cute, clean love story that you won't want to put down until you've read the whole thing! I loved it and can't wait for the next installment.

I was sent an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
